Rooster Rock Race will be on June 30, 2018. Outrigger canoes and stand up paddlers are invited.
Registration fee: (includes 1 raffle ticket, paddler gear and insurance coverage)
OC-6 - $38 per paddler ($228 per canoe)
Junior & Youth OC-6 - $18 per paddler ($108 per canoe)
Small boat/SUP - $38 per paddler, included if racing in OC-6
Schedule:
Registration - 7:30am-9:30am
Steers Meeting - 8:30am
OC-6 Short Course - Approx. 9:00am
Mixed/Men’s Kapuna OC-6 Full Course - Approx. 10:00am
Women’s OC-6 Full Course - Approx. 10:05am
Men’s OC-6 Full Course - Approx. 12:15pm
Small Boat Short Course - Approx. 1:45pm
SUP Short Course - Approx. 1:50pm
Race Course:
Full course approx. 10.5 miles heading upriver for 4 miles, looping counter-clockwise around Phoca Island, head downriver for the last turn counter clockwise to head back towards the finish line. Short course approx. 5 miles. Actual race courses may change on race day pending wind and water conditions.
Post Race:
Plate lunch will be available for purchase of $5 per ticket. Massages available by James Giannetti, LMT (donations accepted). Awards will be given out after the small boat/SUP short course and raffle to follow.
Insurance:
Insurance is provided by Paddlesport Risk Management, LLC. The race will follow PNWORCA race rules, regulations and safety procedures (http://www.pnworca.org/racing/official-rules/). Individuals must complete the Event Waiver in order to enter the race. Waivers coming soon.
Safety:
Six functional PFDs, at least one working bailer and a whistle per boat. Safety boats will be on the course to assist, but are not responsible for paddlers, boats or equipment. Please make sure your crews are comfortable with huli procedure. All small boat and SUP paddlers must wear a PFD and have a leash.
Parking:
Daily park entrance fee $5 at the gate. Camping at the race site included in the daily fee.
Race course in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, just 25 minutes from downtown Portland.
